Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the developer of Amarantine Realms ("we", "us") collects when you play Amarantine Realms ("the game") on Android, iOS or the web at web.amarantine.io, and on this website, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have.
Information we collect
From your Google account
You sign in to the game with Google. Google gives us your Google account ID, your email address and the first and last name on your Google profile. We never see your Google password.
Information you create in the game
- Your in-game name and your public player ID.
- Game progress: runs, teams, battles and their replays, unlocked champions, currencies such as Æther, Ranked rating and season results.
- Records of ad rewards you received (which reward, when, and for which run).
Information collected automatically
- Sign-in sessions: a session token stored on your device and on our servers, with the time it was last used, so you stay signed in.
- Server logs: when the app talks to our servers, our hosting provider records technical details such as your IP address, device and browser type, the time and the request made. We use these to keep the service running and secure.
- Advertising data: see Advertising (Google AdMob) below.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The Android and iOS apps show ads through Google AdMob, including optional rewarded ads that you can choose to watch for an in-game bonus. Google, its advertising partners and the ad networks Google works with may collect and use information from your device to serve, measure and personalise ads, including:
- your device's advertising identifier (the Android Advertising ID or Apple's IDFA, the latter only if you allow tracking);
- your IP address and the approximate location it indicates;
- device and app information, such as model, operating system, language and app version;
- how you interact with ads, such as views, taps and completed rewarded ads;
- diagnostic data, such as crash and performance information from the ads software.
When you finish a rewarded ad, Google sends our server a signed confirmation containing your player ID and the reward, so we can grant it. We do not receive your advertising identifier from that confirmation.
Google's use of this information is governed by Google's own privacy policy. To learn more, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google's Privacy Policy.
Your advertising choices
- Consent: if you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice later in the app's settings.
- iOS: the app asks your permission before using your IDFA for tracking. If you decline, or later turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, you will still see ads, but they will be less personalised.
- Android: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Settings > Privacy > Ads (or Settings > Google > Ads, depending on your device).
- You can manage ad personalisation from Google at My Ad Center.
How we use information
- to create and secure your account and keep you signed in on web, Android and iOS;
- to run the game: save your progress, match you against other players' teams in Ranked and show leaderboards;
- to grant rewards, including rewards for watching ads;
- to show ads that pay for the game;
- to fix problems, prevent cheating and abuse, and improve the game;
- to respond to you when you contact us, and to meet legal obligations.
What other players see
Other players only see your in-game name, your public player ID, your Ranked rating and your teams (for example, when your recorded team appears as an opponent in Ranked or on a leaderboard). We never show other players your email address, real name or Google account ID.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only with:
- Service providers that run the game for us under contract: Google Cloud (hosting and logs) and Neon (our database), both in the United States, and Google for sign-in.
- Google AdMob and its advertising partners, as described above. Under some US state laws, letting ad partners use device data for personalised advertising may count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information; you can opt out using the advertising choices above or by contacting us.
- Legal and safety reasons: when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our players, us or others.
- Business transfers: if the game is sold or transferred to someone else, with this policy continuing to apply.
How long we keep information
We keep your account and game progress for as long as your account exists. Sign-in sessions end after 30 days without use. Server logs are kept for a limited period, normally about 30 days. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep something by law. Ranked records may be kept in anonymised form, with no link to you.
Deleting your account
To delete your account and its data, contact us (see Contact us) from the email address of the Google account you play with, and ask us to delete your account. We will confirm the request and delete your account, game progress and sessions within 30 days. You can also remove the game's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/connections.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, the UK, California or other US states), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain uses, to opt out of personalised advertising, and to withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, contact us as described below. We will not treat you differently for using them. If you are in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: performing our contract with you (running the game and your account), our legitimate interests (security, preventing cheating, improving the game) and your consent (personalised ads).
International transfers
We and our service providers store and process information in the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, for these transfers.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit, access to our systems is restricted, and sign-in is handled by Google. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
This website
amarantine.io does not use cookies, analytics or ads. Our hosting provider records standard server logs as described above. The page loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when it does.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the effective date above, and tell you in the game if a change is significant.
Contact us
To reach us with a question or a request about your information, use the developer contact email shown on the game's Google Play or App Store page.
